NHS Student Art In 'Teen Visions' At Sacred Heart University
Newtown High School student artists have work on view until February 18 in the Jerry’s Artarama-sponsored “Teen Visions 2015, A Connecticut High School Art Exhibit,” hosted at Sacred Heart University’s Art & Design Gallery.
Students who have art in the exhibit are Zoe Brodskey, Haley Kean, Courtney MacDonald, Catherine Menousek, Emily Radatovich, Helena Rezikoff, Brandon Rodriguez, Rory Staack, and Michael Triantafilidis.
The exhibit features art work by students from Brien McMahon, New Canaan, Staples, Central, Trumbull, Joel Barlow, Norwalk, Western High, Ludlow, Stamford, Wilton, and Newtown High Schools
An opening reception for the exhibit was held on Saturday, January 31, with an award ceremony conducted during the reception.
While no Newtown students earned awards during the reception, student Haley Kean, who attended the event, said it was a good opportunity for students and she is happy that NHS participated in the exhibit.
“There were some really amazing artists there,” said Haley, on Tuesday, February 3.
NHS teacher Carol Pelligra said the NHS students who have art in the exhibit are “really good kids and it’s a beautiful show.”
Ms Pelligra also said all of the work is “a nice representation of the work that we do here.”
The exhibit will be on view until February 18 at Sacred Heart University’s Art & Design Gallery; the university is at 5151 Park Avenue in Fairfield, For more information about the exhibit, call the university at 203-371-7999.
