Remembering Bunny

To the Editor:

It was with sadness that I learned about the death of Mary Jane “Bunny” Madden. I was lucky to call Bunny a friend, a colleague, and a mentor. It was well known that her passions included her family, bridge games with friends, animals and, of course, politics.

Long a stalwart of the Democratic Party in Newtown, she believed passionately that government could play a constructive role in the lives of people. Working tirelessly to elect candidates who could truly make a difference at the local, state, and national levels, you could always trust her word and rely on her constructive wisdom.

I am convinced that when she showed up at the pearly gates, St Peter told her “the election results have been counted Bunny, please go in.”
