Middle Gate Students ‘Wow’ In PTA Program

Nine Middle Gate students were recently selected to represent their school at the state level of the National PTA Reflections Program, a nationwide kindergarten through twelfth grade cultural arts program.

Judging was based on artistic merit, creativity, and interpretation of the theme, “Wow.” More than 45 applicants were divided into two age-based groups: Primary, grades kindergarten through second; and Intermediate, grades three and four. Entries were accepted into six different categories: Literature, Visual Arts, Photography, Music Composition, Dance Choreography, and Film/Video.

This year, writing pieces by second grader Isabella Wakeman, “The Carnival,” and third grader Nicholas Harper, “Nature’s Beauty,” were selected in the Literature category.

Second grader Isabella Galassi and fourth grader Elizabeth Chamiec-Case were chosen for their respective Visual Arts entries, “Bow Wow!” and “At the Beach.”

In the Photography category, the winning selections were created by first grader Madeline Stites, “Daddy,” and third grader Joshua Harper, “Call of the Spiders.”

Third grader Serene Aryeh’s “Princess Bubble Gum Bella” was selected in the Music Composition category.

Fourth grader Austen Wagner was selected for his dance choreography number titled “Spirit of the Land.”

Fourth grader Taylor Koonz was selected in the Film/Video category for his work Wow: Look at that Pokemon Collection!
