John Hay Boyd, Sr, 88, previously of Trumbull and Westport, died January 20 in Fairfield.

Survivors include five stepchildren and two sons, including William H. Boyd of Newtown; a sister; and grandchildren.

 He was educated at Princeton University. He enlisted in the US Army and achieved the rank of captain. Mr Boyd then worked in sales until his retirement.

He had a great passion for the water and sailing, and was active in local organizations and his church. 

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Nichols (Trumbull), Saturday, February 7, at 10 am.
