Family Valentines Fun Planned

WATERBURY —  Get ready for fun that the whole family can enjoy when the Mattatuck Museum Arts & History Center hosts “Be My Valentine: Valentine’s Day Through the Ages” on Friday, February 13.

From 1 to 3 pm, Mattatuck Director of Education Laurie Pasteryak will lead a workshop where participants will create unique valentines for their loved ones while learning a variety of art techniques. Antique valentines from the museum’s collections, on display especially for this event, provide a glimpse into Valentine’s Days gone by.

Ms Pasteryak has extensive experience in museum educational programming, most recently as museum learning coordinator for the USS Constitution Museum.

 “Come and join the fun,” says Laurie. “We’ll supply new craft ideas and art supplies to make lasting memories!”

Admission to the workshop is free but registration is requested; call 203-753-0381 extension 10. Families, children and adults are welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
