(The following open letter to First Selectman Herb Rosenthal has been received for publication.)
Dear Mr Rosenthal:
I am in receipt of your letter dated January 21, 2001, in response to my letter dated January 29, 2001, thank you.
I disagree on you saying I was extremely loud and rude. I admit I was loud, but I was not extremely loud and I was not rude. You could hear me because Ms Stockerâs door was wide open where your office is at a close vicinity of Ms Stockerâs office. You came at the outside of Ms Stockerâs office door in an angry disposition, and your first words were the following: If I donât quiet down that you would call the police and I would be arrested. Immediately right after, I said I was sorry and then I continued to talk in a quieter voice.
Anyway, the above is not the issue in question, but the following is. From a letter, third paragraph, last line, you stated the following: Please address your questions to your attorney who can in turn contact the town attorney. I should not have to rely on my attorneyâs second hand answers received from the town attorney. As a Newtown property owner, taxpayer, I should rely on the first hand answers from the professional town employee, Ms Elizabeth Stocker, the paid P&Z Planning and Community Development director, and from you, the paid elected first selectman.
I request answers to the following: The approved P&Z aquifer regulations on September 18, 2000, the upzoning of residential properties where the same does not apply to the approved January 4, 2001, the Sandy Hook Curtis Corporate Park?
May I have an answer, thank you.
I believe that if my questions from this letter and from the letter of January 29, 2001 sent to Ms Stocker and a copy sent to you does not get completely answered then you and Ms Stocker should be replaced by professional employees that could give answers to the taxpayers paying their salaries.
Very Truly Yours,
Carmine Renzulli
