Thomas Castellani
Thomas Castellani, 74, of Sandy Hook, a longtime resident of Ridgefield, passed away peacefully on February 1. He was the loving husband of Georgiana (Pawlyk) Castellani. Mr Castellani was born on October 14, 1946, in Queens, N.Y., a son of the late Lino and Marie (Marino) Castellani.
A longtime Ridgefield resident, Mr Castellani was a retired pharmacist and pharmaceutical sales representative of Eli Lilly and Co. He was a faithful parishioner of St Mary’s Parish of Ridgefield and was a member of the church Stephen Ministry, Men’s Ministry and Adoration Chapel. Mr Castellani also volunteered with the Ridgefield Republican Town Committee. One of the greatest joys in Mr Castellani’s life was helping to care for his granddaughters while their parents worked. In his spare time, Mr Castellani enjoyed watching the UConn Huskies men’s and women’s basketball teams, reading books on history at great length, cooking, gardening, and time spent with his precious grandchildren.
Mr Castellani is survived by his wife of 51 years, Georgiana, and their two daughters, Valerie Castellani Sheehan and her husband, John, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Andrea Donigian and her husband, Matthew, of Sandy Hook. Mr Castellani is also survived by four grandchildren, John Joseph and Thomas Sheehan and Olivia and Sophia Donigian; a sister, Lorraine Howard, and her husband, Edward; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions affecting all of us at this time, funeral services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St Mary’s Church Men’s Ministry, 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield CT 06877.
