Using Online Message Boards &
Blogs For Genealogy
On Wednesday, February 9, The Genealogy Club of Newtown will host a presentation by Marian Wood titled âHow to Use Boards and Blogs for Genealogy.â The program will start at 7 pm in the community room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.
Mrs Wood, a corporate marketing expert turned college textbook author, has been tracing her family tree for ten years. Her talk will show how to search for ancestors and connect with long-lost relatives using online message boards and genealogy blogs.
She will also provide step-by-step instructions for posting genealogy queries on surname or geographical message boards, with special tips for both experienced researchers and beginners.
The Genealogy Club of Newtown meets on the second Wednesday of every month, September through June, at the library. New members and visitors are always welcome.
The clubâs March speaker will be Toni McKeen, who will discuss Italian genealogy.
Reservations are not needed, but additional information about the club and the February speaker is available from Harlan Jessup, 203-270-7887.
