Health Forums On Cholesterol

NEW MILFORD — Jonathan Beck, MD, family medicine practitioner, will present “The Facts About Cholesterol” on Thursday, February 17, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the New Milford Hospital Robison conference rooms.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States. High cholesterol is a significant factor that increases the risk for heart attack or stroke.

Dr Jonathan Beck will explain what cholesterol, HDL/LDL, and triglycerides are and how they can affect the flow of blood to the heart. He also discusses the importance of knowing one’s cholesterol levels, following a heart healthy diet, and developing a regular exercise program. His talk includes information on various medications designed to lower cholesterol.

A free heart health risk assessment, provided by the cardiac rehab staff, is available prior to the lecture.
