Free Area Health Screenings
A pilot program, sponsored by the Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging, is now being offered in the greater Danbury area. The following screenings have been scheduled and are offered free to Connecticut residents ages 60 and over:
Podiatry (includes toenail clipping, corns and calluses, and foot exam) and also hearing testing will be held on Wednesday, February 23, at the Elmwood/Danbury Senior Center (797-4686) and on Wednesday, March 9, at the Newtown Senior Center on Riverside Road (270-4310). All screenings are from 9:30 am to 3 pm.
Oral and vision screenings will be held on Wednesday, April 6, at the Newtown Senior Center, and on Wednesday, April 6, and at the Elmwood/Danbury Senior Center on Wednesday, April 27.
Vascular screening (includes carotid, abdominal aneurysm, legs) and osteoporosis screenings will be held at the Elmwood/Danbury Senior Center on Wednesday, June 22, and at the Newtown Senior Center on Friday, May 6.
