Deborah Ellen Kita
Deborah Ellen Kita, 52, died at her home in Blackstone, Mass., on February 2. She was the sister of Howard Dannenberg of Sandy Hook.
 She was born in Bridgeport, graduated from Central High School and University of Connecticut in Storrs, receiving high honors at both. She also earned a masterâs degree in reading.
She is the daughter of Saul and Avis Dannenberg, Stratford.
She is also survived by her much loved family, Dr Dieter Kita and her two sons, Joshua and Daniel; and her close sister, Karen Holson, Wilton, who helped her throughout her illness. She was predeceased by an infant son, Jessie.
Debby Kita was a dedicated teacher for 17 years at Memorial School in Hopedale, Mass. She was so loved by her students and staff.
She put up a valiant fight for almost two years with a rare form of cancer. She was honored by her friends last year in Hopedale, Mass., in a Relay for Life called Diamonds for Debby.
Funeral services were held at Schlossberg and Solomon Memorial Chapel in Canton, Mass. A three-day Shiva period will be held at her parentâs home at Oronoque Village, Stratford, Friday, February 4, until 5 pm, Saturday evening after 6 pm and Sunday.
Donations in her memory may be sent to either the American Cancer Society or the Debby Kita Memorial Fund for the Memorial School in Hopedale, Mass.
