Community Kindness
Community Kindness
To the Editor:
My children and I would like to acknowledge the wonderful merchants in the village of Sandy Hook.
First, the Newtown Varsity Cheerleaders are extremely thankful as they approach their trip to the nationals in Florida. All of the girls were able to make their dream come true through their fundraising efforts. This would not have been possible without the communities generosity. The girls held a number of events from a pasta dinner, harvest fair, to the flamingo a friend.
Second, the Newtown Varsity football team was able to raise funds to keep their program updated. This was able to be done through the efforts of fundraising, again due to the kindness of the community. The boys held a pasta dinner also, as well as a car wash.
We would like to give our thanks to a few business owners in Sandy Hook village that helped us out: Raymond Costanza proprietor of 100 Church Hill Restaurant, as well as R-Place Diamonds, Rob (Coach) Frangione of Coachâs Deli, Mike Kerler of Sandy Hook Wine and Liquor, and PJâs Laundromat. From flamingos to program book ads, your generosity was overwhelming. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Beatty
