The Newtown Torpedoes’ youth swim program held its fifth and final regular season meet when the Bristol Splash visited for competition at Newtown High School on January 28. Bristol won 394-260 but the Newtown swimmers continued to show progress.

“We are really proud of the strides our swimmers have made this season, especially because so many of them just started swimming this year. We are looking forward to the upcoming Yankee League Championship meet series,” Newtown Coach Lisa Irving said.

On Saturday, February 4, the Torpedoes will hold their Swim-a-Thon, a fundraiser for the Newtown Scholarship Association in support of the Daniel Barden Newtown Torpedo Memorial Scholarship.
