New Chaplain Appointed

At Masonicare At Newtown

Masonicare at Newtown has welcomed Thayer Quoos as its new chaplain.

Chaplain Quoos, who is also associate chaplain at Masonicare in Wallingford, succeeds Chaplain Anne Baltzell, who has ministered at Masonicare at Newtown for 21 years.

Reverend Baltzell will concentrate on her duties as director of spiritual services for Masonicare and Masonicare Health Center and will continue to direct the very successful lay ministry volunteer programs in both Newtown and Wallingford, which she developed more than 20 years ago.

Chaplain Quoos is a graduate of Wells College, Yale Divinity School, and the Clinical Pastoral Education program at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She joined Masonicare in 2008 and brings a diverse background, having served families and individuals in a wide range of contexts.

When making the announcement, John Sweeney, Masonicare at Newtown’s administrator, extended a warm welcome to Chaplain Thayer and offered a sincere thank you to Chaplain Anne for her dedication and commitment over the years.

“Aging, with its many and varied challenges, is often a time when spiritual resources and emotional support are especially important to the elderly and their families,” said Mr Sweeney.

Masonicare at Newtown is a Masonicare skilled nursing, in- and outpatient rehabilitation, and assisted living facility at 139 Toddy Hill Road.
