John Donald Watts, Jr, 62, died at his home in Easton, Md., January 25. Born July 1, 1943, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., he was the son of John D. and Julia Zoller Watts.

After graduating from Arlington High School in 1961, he attended the University of Bridgeport where he graduated in 1966 with a double major in finance and mechanical engineering. Mr Watts was a resident of Newtown in the 1970s and 1980s. He and his family lived in Connecticut for many years before moving to the eastern shore of Maryland in 2002 to pursue his passion for boating. He was a member of the Miles River Yacht Club in St Michael’s.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine “Cathy” Watts; and two children, Jacqueline Watts of Goshen, N.Y., and John D. Watts III of Naugatuck.

A memorial service was held on January 28 at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, PA, Easton, Md. Burial will be private.
