First Selectman Herb Rosenthal this week complained about residents throwing snow onto the roadways and said he would issue a plea that it be stopped immediately.

Last week, he pulled his car over on Currituck Road to urge a citizen to discontinue shoveling the white stuff off his driveway and into the roadway.

“A plow pushed it all onto my property and I’m simply putting it back. The cars will disperse it,” the man said.

Mr Rosenthal disagreed wholeheartedly, especially with the freezing temperatures of late.

“It’s going to turn the road into a sheet of ice,” Mr Rosenthal replied.
