NewtownREADS 2007 Is Coming; Many Volunteers Are Needed
Remember in 2003 when Newtown read April Morning by Howard Fast? Everyone in Newtown received a free copy of the book; there were book discussions, film screenings, and an event that saw residents dancing and dining with Revolutionary War reenactors.
Friends of C.H. Booth Library is planning another NewtownREADS event, this time in celebration of the libraryâs 75th anniversary.
When the library hosts a Celebration of Book Groups event on Thursday, March 1, the title for NewtownREADS 2007 will be announced. The public is invited to join the celebration of location clubs, hear what the various groups have to say about some of their favorite books and favorite times together. There will also be discussion about some new and creative ways to discuss books.
Attendees of Celebration of Book Groups will also be the first to learn the title of and receive a copy of the book everyone in town will be reading and discussing.
On Friday, March 2, volunteers will begin passing out copies of the book around town. Help is needed to do this task.
Visit C.H. Booth Library, at 25 Main Street, and stop at the main circulation desk for information and registration for Celebration of Book Groups and/or to volunteer to pass out books.
