P&Z Approves

Westwood Estates

The Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) has approved a six-lot residential subdivision, known as Westwood Estates, on Hattertown Road.

 After discussing the development proposal, P&Z members January 27 unanimously approved the project planned for 20 acres on the east side of Hattertown Road, north of its intersection with Mt Nebo Road. James Miner is the applicant for the development.

P&Z members required that Mr Miner post an approximately $50,000 bond to cover road work and drainage work, construction of a fire suppression tank, and the construction of common driveways, according to P&Z records.

 Also, P&Z members specified various requirements concerning public rights of way, easement areas, and grading. The subdivision approval takes effect February 7.

P&Z Chairman Daniel Fogliano said the applicant was receptive to all suggestions concerning open space easements on the property.
