Torpedoes Swim 6,430 Laps To Benefit Scholarship Association
The Newtown Torpedoes held their fifth Annual Swim-A-Thon at Newtown High School, on January 27. During the daylong event, 46 team members completed 6,430 laps, totaling 160,750 yards, to benefit the Daniel Barden Newtown Torpedo Memorial Scholarship through the Newtown Scholarship Association, in honor of their former Torpedoes teammate.Torpedoes webpageMoney is being raised through pledges and a raffle held at the event.
