Newtown High School’s varsity and junior varsity cheerleading squads both earned championships at the Connecticut Classic Cheer Competition at Wolcott High School on January 30.

The Nighthawks now turn their attention to the South-West Conference championships, which they’ll host, on Saturday, February 6, beginning at 4 pm. Newtown is looking to defend its title from a year ago.

Led by senior captains Madeline Bridges, Laken Hughes, and Jess Mullany, the team is coached by Sue Bridges.
