Scout Day At IAIS
WASHINGTON â Boy and Girl Scouts of all levels are invited to spend a winter afternoon experiencing Native American culture and the outdoors at The Institute for American Indian Studies.
On Saturday, February 14, from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm, Scouts can enjoy learning about the animals of Connecticut, how to start fire using friction, basic tracking skills, and record what they see on their own animal skin winter count (a pictorial record of events and histories used by the Plains Indians tribes). Registration is required for this event, and there is a fee of $13 per Scout and $5 for adults, which includes regular museum admission. Call 860-868-0518 for registration or additional information.
The museum is at 38 Curtis Road. Directions and additional information is also available at birdstone.org.
