Nissan Vs Honda
Motorist Andrew Mangold, 17, of 49 Butterfield Road was driving a 2008 Honda Fit sedan westward near 89 Church Hill Road about 12:20 pm January 23, when he attempted to make a right turn into a driveway and was struck from behind by westbound motorist Nicholas Nazer-Paniagua, 17, of Davidson, N.C., who was driving a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder, according to police.
There were no injuries. Police issued Nazer-Paniagua a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Multiple Charges
After learning that police held a warrant for her arrest, Joann Defosche, 42, of Trumbull came to the police station on the morning of January 28, and was arrested on six charges in connection with a May 20, 2008, motor vehicle accident on South Main Street, police said.
Police said they arrested Defosche on charges of driving under the influence, reckless driving, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, risk of injury to a minor, and failure to maintain automotive insurance.
In that accident, Defosche was driving a 2008 Nissan Rogue compact crossover sport-utility vehicle northward on South Main Street about 9 pm May 20, when the Nissan crossed the roadâs centerline, entered the southbound lane, struck some curbing, hit a residential mailbox, crossed over a driveway, struck an embankment, spun around, and then landed on its driverâs side in front of a house at 220 South Main Street.
On January 28, police released Defosche on $500 bail for a February 11 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Taunton Crash
Police report a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Taunton Lane and Taunton Hill Road about 7:48 am January 27.
Motorist Miroslaw Supronowicz, 53, of Norwalk, who was driving a 2004 Ford Ranger pickup truck, was waiting at a stop sign on Taunton Lane, as motorist Jean Johnson, 49, of 134 South Main Street was driving a commercial 2004 Ford Freestar minivan eastward on Taunton Hill Road, police said.
The pickup truck then entered the intersection and collided with the minivan, police said. There were no injuries. Police gave Supronowicz a written warning for failure to grant the right of way at a stop sign.
Mirror-To-Mirror
About 2:35 pm January 21, motorist Keith McCool, 47, of Terryville was driving a 2008 Ford pickup truck eastward on Old Bethel Road, as motorist Daryl Bartkus, 57, of Roxbury was driving a 2005 Ford pickup truck westward there, police report.
While passing each other in opposite directions, the two trucksâ left exterior rear-view mirrors collided. There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned both drivers for failure to drive to the right.
Rear-Ender
About 8 am January 21, motorist Louis Meola, 48, of Danbury, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck eastward near 172 Mt Pleasant Road, when he stopped for traffic conditions, police said.
Eastbound motorist Antonio Camelo, 40, of Danbury, who was driving a 1999 Honda Civic sedan, then drove into the rear end of the Chevrolet, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said that Camelo failed to drive a reasonable distance apart and that he also failed to have a driverâs license.
