AAA Conducts 65th Annual Poster Contest
Students in New Haven, Litchfield and Fairfield Counties can showcase their artistic talents and traffic safety knowledge on such subjects as pedestrian, child passenger, and new-driver safety in AAAâs 65th Annual Traffic Safety Poster Contest.
Now through February 6, AAA Connecticut Motor Club is accepting entries from kindergarten through twelfth grade students who will compete for local honors in the club-level contest. Students may submit original, hand-drawn posters illustrating grade-appropriate themes; while high school students have the choice of submitting hand-drawn posters, digitally enhanced designs, or one- to two-minute video public service announcements.
Competition entries are judged locally and nationally by AAA traffic safety experts and are eligible for various forms of recognition. On the club level, students will receive Barnes & Noble Gift cards and free summer weekend day passes to Quassy, a local Show Your Card & Save partner. Nationally, students will compete for more than $18,000 in awards. In addition, winning entries will be featured on the AAA Exchange website at AAA.com/publicaffairs.
Submissions are judged on the relationship of the entry design to proper traffic safety practices, originality, creativity and execution, visual impact, and relevance of the slogan.
Schools, after-care, and other youth programs interested in participating in the AAAâs Traffic Safety Poster Program should contact Mayko at 765-4222, extension 6509, or 203-928-6509 or email her at fmayko@aaact.com for rules and entry forms.
