Marie Helen Rotella to David Donald Athans

Marie Helen Rotella and David Donald Athans of Sandy Hook announce their engagement to be married.

The future bride graduated from Danbury High School and Western Connecticut State University in Danbury with a bachelor of science in nursing. She is a registered nurse certified in behavioral health at Danbury Hospital.

The future bridegroom graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury. He attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Mass., and Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J., with certifications in professional turf management. He is the heavy equipment mechanic at H.L. Bennett, Jr., in Southbury.

A June wedding is planned.
