Rep Brennan Plans Saturday Sit Down
BETHEL — Second District State Rep Raghib Allie-Brennan is wasting no time reaching out for constituent feedback as he heads into his first session as Connecticut’s youngest state lawmaker.
Rep Allie-Brennan has scheduled a 2nd District Sit Down on Saturday, February 2, at The Sycamore, 282 Greenwood Avenue, from 10 am to noon.
He invites Newtown residents and constituents “to discuss issues you want addressed during this legislative session and any questions or concerns you may have.”
Rep Allie-Brennan was among the first lawmakers to introduce new legislation soon after taking his oath of office earlier in January, with a bill to eliminate Connecticut’s $250 business entity tax and legislation to prohibit the sale of puppies and kittens raised under inhumane conditions.
He is also pursuing legislation eliminating the need for parental consent when minors want to start using the HIV prevention drug pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), as well as a banning “gay and transgender panic” as a criminal defense to justify violence against individuals identifying as gay or transgender.
