Wendy A. Gavaghan, 59, died January 22 at Greenwich Hospital. She was born April 25, 1954, in Stamford, Conn., and was the daughter of the late Florence (Millett) and Thomas J. Gavaghan.

Her sister Kathleen Gavaghan of Newtown; niece Kelly and nephew T.J. DeLeo, also of Newtown; many beloved friends; and her Yorkie survive Ms Gavaghan.

She will be remembered by those who knew her for her great love for life and her wonderful wit and humor. As a CFO and comptroller, Ms Gavaghan traveled the United States for many large corporations such as Memry Corp and Starstruck. She was a passionate conservative who loved her country and relished a good debate and her large Twitter following.

Although she spent most of her life in the Northeast, she enjoyed skiing in Colorado, golfing in the Carolinas, and her time on a dude ranch in Arizona.

She will be remembered as a “Celtic Warrior,” and her courage will not be forgotten.

There will be a graveside service Friday, January 31, at 10:30 am, for family and friends at St John’s Cemetery in Darien.
