Kevin Carney

Carney is a senior on the Newtown High School wrestling team. The four-year grapplers competes in the 215-pound weight class.

Favorite part about swimming: “Definitely beating your opponent.”

Toughest aspect: “I have a weight disadvantage,” said Carney, explaining that at 180 pounds he often gives up 20-plus pounds to his opponents.

Favorite subject: Culinary. “It’s the one class where you get to eat,” Carney said.

Team he roots for: New York Yankees.
