Due to the winter storm of January 23, the Newtown Boy Scout Troop 770 open house event has been postponed to Sunday, February 7.

The event will run from 3:30 to 5:30 pm, in the Monsignor Weiss Gathering Hall at St Rose of Lima School, 40 Church Hill Road.

Troop 770 is a non-denominational troop that meets on Tuesday evenings at St Rose School. No previous Scouting experience is required.

All boys 11 years or older, or currently in fifth grade, are invited to join Troop 770 Scouts and leaders for an afternoon of fun to learn more about scouting.

Scouts will set up skill stations to introduce guests to some of the things they do, such as setting up a tent, cooking a camping meal, and wilderness survival training. Older scouts will be on hand to answer questions, and parents and leaders will host a coffee chat for prospective parents.

Reservations are requested, but drop-in guests will also be welcome.

Email Christina Davis with questions or to let the group know you will be attending at NewtownTroop770@gmail.com.

Boy Scout Eddie Godino, a members of Newtown Troop 770, will be conducting a sock drive on November 22.
