NHS Parent Forum On Depression And Teen Behavior; Two Sessions, February 4
A Parent Forum, hosted by the Newtown Public Schools Recovery Project, on “Depression vs Normal Teen Behavior: How To Know the Difference” is scheduled Tuesday, February 4, in two sessions at Newtown High School.
The first session will run from 9 until 9:45 am, and the second session will be held from 6 to 7 pm, both in the NHS Main Office Conference Room.
Adolescent depression is sometimes hard to identify, according to the Recovery Project. The forum, according to a release for the event, will help parents distinguish between adolescent depression and “typical teenager” behaviors.
The sessions will include a presentation and question and answer session with Vice President of Children’s Services at Wellmore Behavioral Health Marcy Kane, and Wellmore School Based Clinician at Newtown High School Barbara Bourgeois.
