Le Grande O. Cole

Owned Danbury Greenhouse

Le Grande O. Cole, 92, a longtime resident of Danbury, died January 25, at River Glen Health Care and Rehabilitation in Southbury. He was born April 16, 1918, in Ithaca, N.Y., the son of Ruby (Schott) Cole and Romain Ogden Cole.

Mr Cole is survived by his daughter, Cynthia L. Vogel of Newtown, and his son, Donald Cole and his wife, Jillian, of Southbury; six grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Hazel Cole, in 2008; a son, USN Lt Commander Le Grande O. Cole; and his son-in-law, Timothy Vogel.

Mr Cole operated Cole’s Greenhouse in Danbury for many years and was a greenhouse keeper for the State of Connecticut.

He was a member of St James Episcopal Church.

Calling hours and services will be held in private. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Green Funeral Home in Danbury.
