Helen N. Moody

Dearly Beloved Mother And Grandmother

Helen N. Moody, 89, of Allentown, Penn., died January 15, at Filosa for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Danbury, following a long illness. She was born in Schoentown, Penn., March 27, 1921, to Mary (Stanak) and John Nocket.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dr Kathleen Moody and Dr J. Walter Streett, Newtown; three siblings, two granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burton E. Moody, in 1998; an infant son, Burton Randall, in 1959; and eight siblings.

Mrs Moody graduated from Traphagen School of Fashion after which she worked as a designer for Simplicity Pattern Company. She also worked for the US government in several stenographer and administrative assistant positions with the Army Air Force at Middletown (Pennsylvania) Air Depot and with the military staff at Fort Indiantown Gap (Annville, Penn.) during World War II. Her last position was as a clerk for the VA Outpatient Clinic in Allentown.

Mrs Moody continued her interest in designing and making clothes (and costumes) for her family members and close friends. Later in life, she embraced the computer and Internet with enthusiasm.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated January 22. Interment was in St Anthony’s of Padua Cemetery in Cumbola, Penn.
