Super Bowl Sandwich Sale

MONROE — United Methodist Church of Monroe will present its annual Super Bowl Sunday Sandwich Sale on Sunday, February 6.

The net proceeds of this year’s sale will be divided between a mission overseas and a mission in the United States.

The sandwiches will be made with Boar’s Head meats and cheese. A whole sandwich (three-foot) will serve up to 24 people. Half sandwiches can also be purchased.

The sandwiches will be available for pickup at UMC, 515 Cutler’s Farm Road in Monroe on from approximately 11:30 am until 12:30 pm. They must be ordered and paid for in advance.

The latest date for ordering sandwiches will be Wednesday, February 2. No more than 50 sandwiches will be made, so early orders are encouraged.

Phone orders may be made Wednesday to Friday, from 10 am to 1 pm, at 268-8395.

Cost for whole sandwiches is $40, half sandwiches are $20.

Sandwiches available this year are The Italian, with ham, salami, prosciutto, provolone, mozzarella, loose leaf lettuce, tomato, virgin olive oil, and vinegar; The American with roast beef, turkey, bologna, American cheese, red oak leaf lettuce and tomato; and The Veggie, with grilled Portobello mushrooms, zucchini, red peppers, onions, and garlic topped with mozzarella cheese and sprinkled with vinegar. (This sandwich is especially nice if warmed in the microwave or oven.)
