Pickup Vs Station Wagon
Motorist Linda Lysaght, 51, of 11 Cobblers Mill Road, who was driving a 1998 Volvo V-70 station wagon, was stopped at a traffic signal on northbound Queen Street at its intersection with Church Hill Road about 3 pm January 18, when northbound motorist William DeSimone, 44, of 27 Chipmunk Trail, who was driving a 1999 Ford F-150 pickup truck, struck the rear end of the Volvo, police report.
There were no injuries. Police issued DeSimone a written warning for following too closely.
Vandalism Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for her arrest, Jayme Crane, 19, of 192 Hanover Road went to the police station and turned herself over to police at about 4:30 pm January 20, police report.
Police said they charged her with first degree criminal mischief in connection with damage that was done to an automobile last October. The vandalism charge concerns damage exceeding $1,500.
Police released Crane on a promise to appear in court on February 3.

New Lebbon Rollover
Motorist Craig Walrath, 18, of 11 New Lebbon Road was driving a 1998 Ford Expedition sport-utility vehicle southward on High Rock Road about 2 pm January 23, when he made a right turn onto westbound New Lebbon Road and then slid on that snowy road, police report.
The Ford went off the right road shoulder, climbed an embankment and then rolled onto its left side, police said. Walrath was not injured. Police issued him a written warning for making a restricted right turn.
Highway Crash
State police report that motorist Heather Crane, 20, of Hingham, Mass., who was driving a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastward on Interstate 84, near Exit 10, about 2:30 pm January 22, lost control of the vehicle in snowy conditions and struck guard cabling along the right road shoulder.
Crane was not injured. State police said Crane was traveling unreasonably fast.
SUV Into Bridge
Motorist Meghan Harrison, 20, of New Milford, who was driving a 1995 Ford Explorer eastward on Interstate 84 in snowy conditions, near Exit 10, about 4 pm January 22, slowed to avoid traffic, but lost control of the sport-utility vehicle and collided with a bridge abutment, state police report. The Ford carried one passenger.
The vehicleâs airbags deployed after the impact. There were no injuries, state police said. State police said Harrison was traveling unreasonably fast.
I-84 Accident
State police said motorist Janessa Cannata, 21, of 13 Appleblossom Lane was driving a 1995 Dodge Stratus westward on Interstate 84, about one-quarter mile west of Exit 10, about 11:18 am January 21, when traffic stopped ahead of the Dodge, causing Cannata to turn right and to brake to avoid a collision.
The Dodge then went into a spin and struck guard railing along the right road shoulder, state police said. Cannata was not injured. State police said Cannata made an improper turn.
Hawleyville Crash
Motorist Linda Fitch, 46, of New Milford was driving a 1999 Honda Accord coupe southward on Hawleyville Road, near Farrell Road, about 10:54 pm January 23, when she attempted to negotiate a curve in the road, but slid on the snowy road surface, entered the northbound lane and then struck a utility pole along the northbound road shoulder, police said.
 Utility lines fell off the pole and started a ground fire, police said. Hawleyville firefighters went to the accident to extinguish the fire.
The electric utility company sent workers to the accident to shut off the power and repair the damage.
Local ambulance volunteers checked Fitch at the scene for minor injuries caused by airbag deployment, police said. Police issued Fitch a written warning for a moving violation.
Wasserman Way Collision
Police report a two-vehicle accident on Wasserman Way, near Reed Intermediate School, about 4 pm January 23.
Westbound motorist Darryl Perreira, 41, of Monroe, who was driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck carrying four passengers, when Perreira brought the truck to a stop because there were several vehicles stopped on the side of the road, police said.
Westbound motorist Miguel Vargas, 37, of Derby, who was driving a 2003 Dodge Stratus sedan carrying three passengers, then attempted to stop, but slid on the snowy road and struck the rear end of the pickup truck, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Vargas an infraction ticket for driving without a license, and also issued Vargas a written warning for following too closely.
Forklift Part Found
Police report that a forklift attachment was found lying on the eastbound road shoulder at 62 Church Hill Road about 4:45 pm January 16. Police ask that the owner contact them at the police station at 3 Main Street to retrieve the industrial accessory.
Minivan Into Tree
Motorist Marc Imbimbo, 24, of Bridgeport was driving a 2002 Dodge Caravan minivan southward near 59 Mile Hill Road South about 11:25 am on January 24, when a large unidentified truck with a snowplow attached to its front end was heading northward toward him on that street, police report.
Imbimbo told police that the snowplow was partially in the southbound lane, causing him to swerve to the right to avoid it. The minivan then went off the right road shoulder and struck guardrailing and a tree, police report.
Imbimbo was not injured. Police said they gave Imbimbo a written warning for traveling too fast for conditions.
Gelding Hill Crash
Police report a two-vehicle accident on a snowy Gelding Hill Road about 11:18 am January 24.
Motorist Mary Ellen Midgley, 41, of Brookfield was driving a commercial 1995 Ford Econoline van northward near 13 Gelding Hill Road, as motorist Gil Gilbert, 61, of Stratford was driving a 2001 GMC Sierra pickup truck southward there, according to police.
The Ford went out of control on the snowy road, entered the opposite lane and collided with the GMC, police report. There were no injuries. Police issued Midgley a written warning for driving with unsafe tires and for making a restricted turn.
Main Street Collision
Motorist Melo Silva Mauro, 49, of Deerfield Bach, Fla., was driving a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee southward on Main Street, just south of its intersection with West Street, about 8:40 am January 24, when a southbound 2002 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by Angelo Meola, 55, of Mahopac, N.Y., stopped for traffic, police said.
The Jeep then slid on the slushy road and struck the rear end of the Ford, police report. There were no injuries. Police gave Mauro a written warning for following too closely.
