NYS Chess Tourney

Newtown Youth Services recently held its first invitational Chess Tournament for Reed Intermediate School students at NYS’s location on 10 Glen Road in Sandy Hook. Matt Abrams and Michael Brill, former chess instructors for the Chess Club at Reed, hosted the event.

Students had the opportunity to challenge themselves as well as their classmates and, of course, have some fun! All participants received an NYS 25th Anniversary T-shirt; the first-place winner, Thomas Johnston, received two gift booklets to the Edmond Town Hall movie theater.
