Matilda VanSiclin Rollinson
Matilda VanSiclin Rollinson, 91, of Shelton died on January 20 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late William Rollinson.
Mrs Rollinson was the loving mother of Billie Joan Svanda and her husband, Michael, of Sandy Hook; sister of Alma Pelzolt and Josephine Mahon, both of Long Island, Hazel Kauflin of Oxford, N.Y., and the late Edna Ringrose and Lawrence Smith. She was the loving grandmother of Laurie Kick, Michael, Mark, David, and Mathew Svanda; great-grandmother of Sarah Kick, Hilly, and Katie Ohanlon, Steven, Kendall, Andrew, Benjamin, Nathalie, and Jourdan Svanda; and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs Rollinson was born in Long Island on April 13, 1913, daughter of the late Lawrence and Martha Fowler Smith. She was a Shelton resident for most of her life.
She was a former Avon representative and a member of the Eastern Star.
A funeral service was held on January 22 in the Riverview Funeral Home, Shelton. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery.
