Catholic School Week

St Rose School has several exciting events planned for Catholic Schools Week from January 29 through February 4.

Celebrated by Catholic schools nationwide, Catholic Schools Week was first established in 1974 to recognize the valuable contribution Catholic schools make to the church, community, and country.

On Saturday, January 29, at 5:30 pm, a special mass featuring songs by St Rose’s pre-K through grade 1 students will kickoff the week’s events. The mass will be followed by a catered buffet dinner in the St Rose Church Hall.

On Monday, January 31, at 1 pm, students will wear St Rose’s red-and-white school colors for a pep rally in celebration of the faculty vs eighth grade basketball game that evening at 7. The game will be held in the Newtown Middle School gym. The evening will also feature a 50/50 raffle and a foul-shooting contest.

On Wednesday, February 2, at 8 am, St Rose students will commemorate their “Thank Our Bus Drivers” Day by delivering a special gift to the bus drivers as they arrive at school in the morning.

On Thursday, February 3, the entire school will participate in a Baby Shower Service Project. Each student will come to school with an unwrapped baby gift a young mother would need (formula, diapers, wipes, clothing, etc). There will be a bassinet drop-off in the school foyer for the gifts, which will be delivered to the Daughters of Charity in Bridgeport.
