Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, at about 11:30 am on January 21, Shaun W. McLean, 26, of 55 Sugar Street turned himself over to police at the police station and was charged with illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle.
Police said that on November 30, they noticed that McLean had a survival knife with a nine-inch blade in the front passenger area of a motor vehicle. Police then sought a warrant for McLeanâs arrest.
After processing, police released McLean on $4,000 bail for a February 3 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Shoplifting Charge
Police said that Dina Gutwillig, 41, of 48 Mile Hill Road South allegedly placed a number of store merchandise items in a shopping cart and then concealed those items with her coat at the Big Y supermarket at Newtown Shopping Village on Queen Street on the afternoon of January 23.
Gutwillig then paid for some other items and left the store, after which she was apprehended by store security staff, police said.
Police charged Gutwillig with sixth degree larceny. She was released on $100 bail for a February 7 court appearance.
