Chocolate Fondue At New Morning
Chocolate Fondue At New Morning
WOODBURY â Whatâs so special about organic chocolate?
Mary Giampetro from New Morning Store says
âCheck the ingredients listing on your favorite chocolate bar,â says Mary Giampetro from New Morning Store. âThe number one ingredient in a Dagoba bar is cacao. If sugar is the first item listed on yours, you should [re-think your chocolate selections].â
Visitors to New Morning Store on Saturday, February 4, between 1 and 4 pm, will have a chance to do just that.
Dagoba was voted Best Dark Chocolate by The San Francisco Chronicle in 2004, and Organic Style in 2005. The cocoa in Dagoba organic chocolate comes from Central and South America and the Caribbean, and is produced according to âfair tradeâ philosophies, using no artificial or genetically modified ingredients. Itâs mixed in small batches by hand and infused with exotic oils, fruits and nuts from around the world.
A chocolate fondue at New Morning on February 4 will showcase the chocolate donated for this yearâs third annual chocolate dinner, which will be held in March as a benefit for Audubon Center at Bent of the River in Southbury.
This yearâs dinner will be held at Westover School in Middlebury. The event is set to a Central American theme, and will feature Mayan expert Michael Coe, PhD, an anthropology professor emeritus from Yale University. Dr Coe will shed light on the ancient Mayan origins of Americaâs favorite food.
Guests will enjoy good company, fabulous food, great organic wines and music of the Americas.
