Anna Larkin Stanton, 92, of Heritage Village, Southbury, died peacefully January 22. She was born June 18, 1922, in Bridgeport, and graduated from Warren Harding High School.

Formerly of Sandy Hook, she moved to Heritage Village with her husband 20 years ago where she enjoyed coordinating luncheons for all her neighbors.

Mrs Stanton worked for the Newtown Sewing Center, Remington Arms Company, and Kleiner Yarns. She volunteered for many organizations, including Trinity Church in Newtown, Sandy Hook Elementary School, Girl Scouts of America, and the American Red Cross.

Her greatest joy was her family. She loved knitting, sewing, and quilting gifts for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. Mrs Stanton was very generous of her time and talent and always brought a smile to people's faces. She lived independently and enjoyed swimming and gardening. She was an avid reader.

She will be greatly missed by her four sons, two daughters and their spouses, Thomas and Malvina Stanton, Kurt and Edith Stanton, Brad and Deborah Stanton,  Scot Stanton, Dale and Jay Ambrose, and Kim Stanton; her 10 grandchildren, Erin Ouellette; Michael and Mark Stanton; Amanda, Nathan, Theodore, Eleanor, and Adeline Stanton; Shannon Ambrose; and Cameron Stanton; her five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband of 64 years, S. Thomas Stanton, Jr; her parents, Anna and John Larkin; her sisters, Adeline Gould and Margaret Jusyk; her brother, Martin Larkin; and her grandsons, Benjamin and Elliot Stanton, predeceased Mrs Stanton.

A memorial service will take place at 2 pm, Monday, January 26, at St Paul’s Episcopal Church, 294 Main Street South, Woodbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Opportunities, Meals on Wheels Program, 232 North Elm Street, Waterbury CT 06702.

Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury.
