Tori Anderton scored 42 points and Shelby Neveriski added 41 more as Alpine Realty set a new league record with 107 points and handed Newtown Mobil its first loss of the season, 107-66, in The Gym at Newtown Women’s Basketball League.

Anderton also grabbed nine rebounds while Neveriski had five rebounds, two blocks and two assists. Meanwhile, Kelly Fengler had a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds. For Mobil, Amy McKenna scored 26 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as Kelly Pinkney – despite getting sick at halftime – added 28 points and eight rebounds for an undermanned Mobil team. Renee Knapp played tough defense, pulling down nine rebounds.

Newtown Performance topped Newtown Phone Book, 51-40, as Jess Minotti scored 22 points and Katie Abromovitch chipped in 18 points and eight boars. Jody Rajcula tossed in six points and grabbed nine rebounds. Jen Timpanelli added four points while Laura Cook had two blocks and a steal to help defensively. For the Phone Book, Maura Keenan had 24 points and 12 rebounds while Karen Powell and Colleen Ruiz combined for 11 points, seven rebounds and six steals.

Walsh Logging slipped past The Gym, 57-53, as Jen Zdziarski scored 23 points and Jen Dayton added 15 – all coming on five three-pointers. Tracy Paella dropped in 10 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Joanne Duncanson and Jen Knapp combined for nine points, 13 rebounds and four blocks. For The Gym, Jen Thomas had 16 points and 17 boards as Janet Duffey and Jamie Murphy tossed in 14 points apiece. Carolyn Schreiber and Mel Darrah combined for nine points and 14 rebounds.

Newtown Mobil edged Newtown Performance, 64-58, in overtime as McKenna scored 27 points and Lynn Yeager added 20 points and eight rebounds. Jen Kelly – who had a key basket in the overtime session – added 13 points and 11 boards. For Performance, Abromovitch canned 23 points and Minotti added 20 while Rajcula chipped in 11 points and 12 boards.

Alpine Realty pounded The Gym, 85-47, behind a 34-point, 13-rebound effort from Anderton and a 25-point, 10-rebound effort from Neveriski. Sarah Gersky added 20 points and 13 boards. For The Gym, Thomas tossed in 18 points and grabbed 16 rebounds while Murphy had 10 points and eight boards. Schreiber contributed eight points.

Newtown Phone Book smashed Walsh Logging, 65-45, as Keenan scored 26 points, pulled down 15 rebounds and dished off six assists. Colleen Ruiz and Alex Heron tossed in 12 points apiece and combined for 16 rebounds. For Walsh Logging, Zdziarski scored 21 points – including a trio of three-pointers – and grabbed 11 rebounds with four blocks. Joanne Duncanson and Doris Ratner scored six points apiece and combined for seven rebounds.
