Study Looks At SAD

NEW HAVEN — The VA Connecticut Healthcare System and Yale University physicians are conducting a six-week treatment study on seasonal affective disorder (SAD).

SAD is identified by such symptoms as mild depression, a craving for carbohydrates (sweets and starches), low energy, wanting to sleep all the time, and a feeling of being heavy, leaden, weighed down.

The study offers a general health assessment, routine lab tests and treatment, at no cost to participants. Veterans and non-veterans are welcome. For more information call 203/934-4862 and ask for Kate Lynch-Colonese.
