Patrick David Hennessey, Sr

Patrick David Hennessey, Sr, 69, of Stratford, husband of the late Stella (Manoni) Hennessey, died January 24, in Florida Hospital South, Orlando, Fla.

He was the father of Brian Hennessey of Newtown.

Mr Hennessey was born on September 13, 1930, in Bridgeport, son of the late David and Mary (Hannon) Hennessey, and had been a lifetime area resident. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War, and was a retired accountant for Perkin Elmer, Norwalk. He was a graduate of Fairfield Prep where he was known as “Dave.” He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Bridgeport, and was a member of the Oronoque Men’s Club, the Fun Seekers, a volunteer at the Mercy Learning Center, Bridgeport, a member of the Perkin Elmer Retirees and the Ancient Order of the Hibernians.

Survivors include another son, Patrick D. Hennessey, Jr, of Trumbull; two daughters, Nancy Aponte of Shelton, and Susan Hennessey of Stamford; one brother, Robert Hennessey of Bridgeport; four grandchildren, Jessica, Nicholas, Michael and Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday, January 28, at 8 am in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford, and at 9 am in St Mark Roman Catholic Church, Stratford, for a funeral Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Monsignor Lawrence McMahon. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.

Calling hours were scheduled Thursday, January 27, from 4 to 8 pm.

 In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr Hennessey may be made to the Mercy Learning Center, 637 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06606.
