Michael A. Swansiger, 85, of Bridgeport, died January 24, in St Vincentâs Medical Center, Bridgeport.
He was the father of Mark Swansiger of Newtown.
He was born in Windber, Penn. and was a resident of Bridgeport for the last 60 years. He was a retired inspector with Avco Lycoming.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Herb) Swansiger; two other sons, James Pensiero of Seattle, Wash., and Michael Swansiger of Trumbull; eight daughters, Joan Hirsch of Idaho, Claire Sommers of Seattle, Wash., Judith Burr of Bridgeport, Linda Michelin of Mongaup Valley, N.J., Michele LaBarba of Derby, Monica Napolitano of Kissimmee, Fla., Mary Swansiger of Ansonia, and Maureen Karolkowski of Bridgeport; four brothers, Andrew and John Swansiger, both of Windber, Penn, Joseph Swansiger of Neptune, N.J., and Theodore Swansiger of Wheaton, Md; three sisters, Mary Fulir of Windber, Penn., Marguerite Yarosz of Mississippi, and Sr Mary Mark of Hazelton, Penn.; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, January 29 at 9:15 am in the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10 am in St Theresa Church. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Friday, January 28, from 4 to 8 pm.
