The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) is offering a one-day workshop, “Composition 101 with Adele Moros,” on Saturday, February 8, from 10 am to 3 pm.

The workshop will be offered in the lower meeting room of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at the flagpole).

Painters of all skill levels are welcome to enroll. The workshop will cover all aspects of composition for painting — the rules for a better painting, what to do and how to think and plan before pulling out the paint.

As many artists already know: If the composition doesn’t work, the painting won’t work.

Those planning to participate should bring their own lunch and a notebook, a few pieces of sketch paper, and several photos they would like to work from.
