*Tickets for CARLOS SANTANA’s April 5 show at Mohegan Sun went on sale last weekend, but I didn’t learn about the onsale details until after last week’s deadline. So sorry if this caused an inconvenience for anyone.

The show will open with a set by The Derek Trucks Band, and tickets are still available, priced at $48 and $68. Contact TicketMaster vendors or visit the casino’s box office for details.

*Tickets will be going on sale this weekend for LESS THAN JAKE, who will be playing The Jorgenson Center for the Performing Arts at UConn Storrs on Saturday, February 9. Showtime is 8 pm and Catch-22 will have an opening set.

Punk/pop/ske band Less Than Jake is not only hoping to have new music ready for a ninth studio album release within a few months, but they’re also queueing up four rereleases of previous albums (Goodbye Blue and White, Pezcore, Losers and Kings And Things We Don’t Understand) along with a release of the DVD Peoples History of Less Than Jake. The bad news is none of this new/old material will be available by the time of the Storrs show; the rereleases are all expected to be out on March 18. Enjoy the show nevertheless.

Tickets for the UConn show are $20 for the public (students will receive $10 discounts for buying their tickets in advance and $5 if there are tickets available at the door). Call the Jorgensen’s box office at 860-486-4226 (Monday through Friday, 11 am-5 pm) or visit Jorgenson.UConn.edu for tickets and additional information.

*This week I want to not only remind everyone that MICHELLE SHOCKED will be at The Ridgefield Playhouse next weekend, but also offer a teaser: John Voket had a great talk with the versatile entertainer this week and has promised a great story about her for next week’s Enjoy section.

Shocked will headline at the playhouse on Saturday, February 2, as part of the Doyle Coffin Architecture Singer-Songwriter Series. She is touring these days to support ToHeavenURide, which celebrates her love and respect of gospel music. Showtime is 8 pm, and the evening will begin with a set by rising singer-songwriter ERIN McKEOWN.

Tickets are $45, and are available by calling the theater’s box office (203-438-5795) or online at RidgefieldPlayhouse.org.

Until next week I’ll be seeing you... on the road.

Questions and comments should be sent to Shannon Hicks c/o The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road, Newtown CT 06470, or shannon@thebee.com, or call the office at 426-3141. Shows listed at clubs are for ages 21 and over unless specified.
