Justin Davis of Sandy Hook has been named to the Superintendent’s list for the fall semester 1999 at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Katherine Speirs, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Jeffrey Speirs of Boggs Hill Road and a junior at Hamilton College, is studying abroad at the University of York in Great Britain for the spring 2000 semester. The academic semester in York is made possible by collaboration with Beaver College, and is open to sophomores and juniors who wish to pursue extensive studies abroad. Katherine, a sociology major, is a graduate of Newtown High School.

Nicholas Perrone, son of Karen and Stanley Perrone and a student at Loyola College, is currently enrolled in the Spring 2000 Semester At Sea (SAS) program. SAS is an international study program that takes approximately 600 students around the world each semester. The current semester the university community aboard the SS Universe Explorer will depart and travel to Cuba, Brazil, South Africa, Kenya, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, China and Japan.

Nicolas Caruso, son of Patrick and Joanne Caruso of Sandy Hook and a freshman at Canterbury School, New Milford, has been named to the honor roll (highest honors) for the second marking period of the 1999-2000 school year.

Colin Doniger, son of Paul and Nancy Doniger of Newtown, will receive $15,696 in college tuition for his two-year Army enlistment. Colin, a 1999 graduate of Newtown High School, will attend basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Leonardwood, Mo., as a military policeman. Colin was assisted in his enlistment by Sgt 1st Class Jose Pagan of the Bridgeport Army Recruiting Station.

Sarah Pollock, daughter of Paul and Cynthia Pollock of Sandy Hook and a junior at Canterbury School, New Milford, has been named to the honor roll (honors) for the second marking period of the 1999-2000 school year.
