Propagation: Make Your Plant Dollars Go Further
Propagation: Make Your Plant Dollars Go Further
The Garden Club of Newtown will learn about plant propagation in a program on January 27 to be presented by Mary Inman, who says âIn these cost-conscious times, propagation is a great way to make your plant dollars go further.â
Non-members are invited to attend the program, which will begin at noon on Tuesday. It will take place in the Olga Knoepke Memorial Meeting Room at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street. There is no charge, and registration is not needed.
A plant pathologist technician with the Connecticut Experimental Station in New Haven, Ms Inman has a BS in plant science with a concentration in horticulture from Rutgers. She has worked at the CT Experimental Station since 1986.
During her program at the library she will explain the various techniques of propagation in detail, including clump division, air layering, stem cutting and other vegetative propagation methods that can be used on perennials or house plants.
