Police Charge Boy With More Sex Crimes
A boy under age 16 whom police arrested in December on five sex-related charges was arrested again this week on an additional five such offenses, police said.
Police said that after learning that they held a warrant for his arrest, the unidentified boy turned himself over to police on January 19 in connection with incidents that occurred last November and October.
According to a brief police report on this weekâs arrest, the boy âtouched multiple female students inappropriately while on a school bus.â
Thus, police charged the youth with four counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and with one count of risk of injury or impairing the morals of a minor.
On December 19, police had charged the boy on a warrant with five offenses. Those charges are three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and on two counts of risk of injury or impairing the morals of a minor. Those charges stemmed from similar incidents on a school bus in October, according to police.
Police said that after the boyâs initial arrest, more victims came forward to testify against the youth, resulting in another police investigation, another warrant, and another arrest.
After processing the January 19 arrest, police released the boy from custody for a February 2 appearance in Danbury Juvenile Court. State law shields the identities of people under age 18 who are charged with crimes.
