And Grandmother

Lois Smith Burdick, 96, previously of Newtown, wife of the late Leon Burdick, died at Ashlar of Newtown, Wednesday, January 14. She was born in Hartford, July 13, 1912, daughter of John Smith.

Mrs Burdick worked as an accountant for Bardens Corporation of Danbury. She loved to travel and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed by her sons, Philip Burdick of Brookfield and Francis Burdick of Danbury; her daughters, Sherry Powell of Torrington and Gail Niles of South Carolina; her 23 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons, Alan and Dick Burdick; and her daughter, Fayleen Sauer.

A memorial service was held at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brookfield, January 21. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family.

The Cornell Memorial Home, Danbury, was in charge of arrangements.
