Anthony T. Hicks

Anthony T. Hicks, 56, beloved husband of Gina (Don) Hicks of Newtown, died January 16, at Waterbury Hospital after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Gloucester, Va., November 13, 1952, a son of Troy and Anna (Hall) Hicks.

Mr Hicks grew up in Virginia and Newtown. He served in the US Marines, and before his illness was an iron cutter in the construction industry. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mr Hicks is survived by his children, Anthony Hicks, Jr and his wife, Rebecca, of Boynton Beach, Fla., Adam Hicks and his girlfriend, Evangilise, of Meriden, Curtis Hicks and his wife, Rebecca, of Naugatuck, Somer Laskowski and her husband, James, of Naugatuck, and Andrea Hicks of Torrington; two daughters-in-law, Rebecca Hicks-Wilson of Milldale and Bambi LaClair of Naugatuck; three brothers, Troy Hicks of Southbury, Bruce Hicks of Watertown, and Matthew Hicks of Woodbury; and a sister, Vickie Hicks-O’Donnell of Bethel. Mr Hicks was “Poppa” to his 14 grandchildren and will be sadly missed by all.

A memorial service was held January 19. Arrangements were in care of Honan Funeral Home, Newtown.
